Many of them made a special journey from Exeter and Truro to collect their GCSE certificates.
A number of them were also recognised for overall top marks in a subject. The highest overall achieving boys were Joe Huxford and Stuart Grigg while the top achieving girls were Idony Perrett and Jodie Granger.
Doctor David Hillebrandt, a local GP and active mountaineer who has been chief medical advisor for the British Mountaineering association, was the guest speaker. He gave a humorous and honest talk emphasising how the students should follow their dreams and challenge themselves throughout their lives.
Head of Year, Mel Bardsley, said: "It was a lovely social evening of celebration and a great opportunity to get this dynamic, confident year group together again and catch up with what has been happening for them all over the past 3 months.
So many of these students are already doing well in their A levels and on other courses around the South West, and as always I know they will go on to achieve great things."
