During that time the pupils have organised a series of activities. These have included a Valentine's disco, a cake sale, a chocolate tombola, pocket money whip around and a sponsored "swim a mile in pyjamas". Over £1000 was raised in total.
Student representatives have now presented cheques of £350 each to representatives from three charities: Gillian Beavis from Cornwall RSPCA, Ray Shaddick for Cancer Research and Chloe White for CLIC Sargent.
Both Ray and Gillian attended an assembly to accept the cheques on behalf of their charities and spoke to the year group about how the money raised will be used to help animals in need in the St Columb centre and research into cancers affecting people of all ages. Both Ray and Gillian expressed their thanks to the students praised their efforts.
Ray said: "I am delighted to accept this cheque and want to commend the young people of Budehaven School who do so much for local charities and often do not get recognised for their positive contributions to their community".
