Camelford Police are warning residents about a scam which is circulating. It is not confined to Camelford so please pass this on to as many as you can.

A male in the name of Paul is phoning from a company purporting to called ICLAIM. It is then stated that your bank has been overcharging you for a number of years and that you are owed money. You are then asked for debit card number and security code.

You are then directed to the nearest UCASH outlet in order to draw a cash voucher worth a large sum of money to cover tax owing to the ministry of justice.

The caller then states that they will phone back for the serial number of the voucher whereby a cheque worth a large amount of money would be hand delivered to your door.

Please do not release any of your details to the caller, do not obtain a voucher….There will be no cheque delivered to your door!

The scam originates from abroad. If you have already been subject to this process please contact your bank in the first instance to ensure that your account has not been attacked.
