Current/Elliot have only been around a mere four years, but in that time they’ve managed to forge the way ahead for American denim. Somewhat of a cult hit, the Current/Elliot jeans are a huge hit with celebrities and fashionistas alike as the trend conscious are drawn to Current/Elliot’s unique set of prints. Now, it looks as though the fashion giant is set to collaborate with Mary Katrantzou to create the ultimate denim collection to end all denim collections.

Mary Katrantzou is infamous for her bold shapes and even bolder prints, so it seems that the two designers are a match made in fashion heaven. Katrantzou has collaborated before now, perhaps most notably with Longchamp. The luxury leather goods company worked with Katrantzou to create a capsule collection of their signature bags, and it ended up being one of the most successful in Longchamp’s history. Considering Longchamp has been around since 1948, that certainly says something for the pulling power of Mary Katrantzou’s work.

It isn’t just jeans that are reportedly going to be included in this new collection with Current/Elliot either, it’s rumoured that there are going to be some daywear items thrown in there for good measure as well. The collection is set to be released in February, so we’ve got a long while to wait before we get our hands on the digi-print denim designs.

Until then, all we can do is speculate over just what the collection will bring us. All we know for certain is that the clothes are going to cost somewhere between $250 and $500. Not very much to go on, we know, but a little imagination goes a long way in cases like this. We know that both designers are big fans of print, so it’s almost certain that the jeans won’t be your usual block coloured affair.

The Editeur are certainly excited to see what the Current/Elliot and Mary Katrantzou collaboration has in store for them, although they’re not sure that they can wait until February to find out! Until then, the Chester based boutique stocks a collection of that infamous Current/Elliot denim, amongst a huge number of other designer ladieswear names including J Brand jeans. The staff in the boutique will be happy to help you find both your perfect pair of jeans, or any other wardrobe essentials you may need. They’ll also be happy to gossip about that exciting February collection!
