A LAUNCESTON author is celebrating the successful launch of her debut poetry collection.
The Deli in Church Street hosted Janet Guest's signing and poetry reading, which saw her sell 23 copies of Bringing Out The Sunshine From Within. Illustrator Laura Wall sold six paintings.
Mrs Guest said: "I was really pleased with the amount of people who came on Saturday. There was a constant flow of people from 11am right through until 2.30pm. Two couples who had not been to Launceston before only came into The Deli because they saw something going on, both bought books and one couple bought a painting too.
"I read out a few poems throughout the day and had a very good response, so we all had a great day."
Mrs Guest founded Caseys Court Publishing in order to fulfil her ambition to publish a poetry collection and is now helping others to do the same. "A big thank you to Shelley Alexander who runs The Deli for allowing us to hold the event there and for her friendly, professional hospitality," said Mrs Guest.
There will be a second book signing from 11am to 2pm on Saturday, February 11 at Southgate Coffee shop.
Bringing Out The Sunshine From Within costs £9.99 and is available from Launceston Bookshop, Spencer Thorne Book Shop in Bude, Tavistock's Book Stop, Launceston Tourist Information Centre, Southgate Coffee Shop in Launceston and Orchard Learning Studios in Gunnislake.
