Free School Update

It seems that the proposal to set up a free school near Bude has shifted somewhat. From the originally proposed site near Killarney Springs, Morwenstow, the Route 39 team have now set their sights on Devon with a school 'somewhere between Bucks Mills and Welcombe' (according to their website) believed to be on land behind The Milky Way, after receiving a more favourable response from Devon County Council than Cornwall. The spotlight therefore seems to be on the small, diverse rural communities like Welcombe, Hartland, Clovelly and Bucks Mills, though numbers of pupils for the existing high schools, Budehaven in Bude and Bideford College in Bideford could still be affected if the proposal is accepted by the Government.
