Match Report: Bude Ladies FC v Falmouth

Bude Ladies FC played top of the league Falmouth at home on Sunday 23rd September. With a strong squad Bude began well, playing sharp football from the start even against a swirling wind. 

New signing Courtney Ward dominated midfield and, linking up with Katherine Bryant, they both caused confusion for the Falmouth defence.  Despite both sides playing well though, a very entertaining first half saw no goals. 

The second half was again an improvement for Bude who grew in confidence. Reanne Westlake and Steph Haydon created options from the full back positions and using the width Bude had more posession.

A Lizzy Jenkins corner was well worked to find Anita Symons perfectly placed to continue her goal run.  Spurred on, Bude had further chances and another short corner enabled Courtney to shoot from wide left, finding the top right hand corner on her debut.

Falmouth didn't fold and the Bude defence had to keep alert but it always looked more likely to be Bude who scored again and the match finished 2-0.
