Bude Ladies FC 'Man of the Match' this week is Steph Haydon.
An upbeat Bude played some of their best football of the season with Anita Symons finding acres of space on the left. Bude opened the scoring from exactly this area as Anita fired the ball across goal for Leanne Stanbury to knock in. However, Truro equalised from the kick off and Bude had to push again.
This took some of the spring out of Bude's step but they continued to play good football. They looked dominant on the field but just couldn't find the net. Ten minutes before the break, a lapse in communication saw Truro break through and two quick goals saw them take the lead to make it 1-3 at half time.
Bude came out stronger after the break. Leanne Stanbury covered every inch of the pitch showing huge determination and Steph Haydon was dominant at left back. Ten minutes in and Truro took a lucky bounce just outside the box and the resulting shot looped in despite keeper Lisa Cornish getting fingertips to it.
At 1-4 Bude would not lie down and created chance after chance, Lizzy Jenkins' free kick just over the bar and Anita Symons header inches wide. With this intensity Bude's heads were up and Anita continued her goal scoring run as she made it 2-4 with just eight minutes left.
Bude played their most determined football in these last eight minutes worrying Truro with good wide passing football, the possession was with Bude, but despite all efforts time ran out and it finished 2-4.
Man of the match this week was Steph Haydon.
