The Old Forge, Lower Wharf - 2 Units Now Open for Business
By BudePeeps | Friday, June 01, 2012, 19:26
As alerted by Chef Sargie earlier, the Old Forge Units are open for business and I'll be checking them out as soon as I get back from my jollies. The Bude-Stratton Town Council website advises:
-
The workshops in Bude during the renovations
In Unit 3, The Old Forge, Lower Wharf, will be 'Coastal Yarns' provided by Angela Locke and Janet Barraclough. They sell yarns spun from their Bowden herd of alpacas. Apart from the items for sale, they will be running regular spinning and felting workshops
In Unit 2, The Old Forge, Lower Wharf the Council welcomes Francesca Vincent ('Acorn ish Studio') who will be making and selling various arts and craft items including watercoulors, acrylics, textile art, mixed media painting and fabric products (now known to me as Chef Sargie's sister, though I'm sure she is very talented in her own right).
THe Councl wesbite states: "These units are now open and trading and will, it is hoped, complement the other workshops and activities on the Wharf, adding a vibrancy to the area, as well as offering a service to the local community, supporting local craftsmen and artisans and offering additional interest to the area for tourists and visitors.
It is hoped that Unit 1 will be let and occupied in the very near future". You may recall our gallery from when the units were being refurbished by the Town Council.
