Be warned. Around 6,400 households and businesses were caught watching TV without a licence in Devon and Cornwall last year.

People were given opportunities to pay but would be prosecuted if they failed to do so and watched TV illegally, according to the TV Licensing Authority.

Offenders can be fined up to £1,000, with additional court costs and surcharges.

A colour TV licence costs £145.50.
