Joe Huxford has applied to take part in the Oxford University Summer School initiative and will be staying in an Oxford College for a week in July. Whilst these he will attend lectures and seminars in physics and take part in a variety of social activities each evening.
Along with fellow student Stuart Grigg, Joe will also be heading to an event at Devonport High School for Boys to learn more about the rigorous application process required for Oxford and Cambridge universities.
A further six students from Budehaven have applied to The Sutton Trust to attend summer schools at a variety of what are known as The Russell Group universities. The week long stays will give them a taste of student life at a research-led university.
Budeshaven year 12 students will also be going to a UCAS convention at Exeter University which will have representatives from many universities on hand with course prospectuses, alongside gap year companies and members of uniformed services.
