Weekend medical clinics will be run in Bude on a trial basis for three-months following concerns about out-of-hours GP care. Following a meeting yesterday between Serco and PCT, Serco has said it would operate clinics on Saturday and Sunday mornings in Bude for three months. A car will also be based at the community hospital.

Meeting at the Parkhouse last Saturday
A meeting held last Saturday brought out more than 300 people in protest at the move of services from Bude to Launceston, which had happened without consultation. But in "response to peaks in demand" it said it had decided to return and monitor the service over 12 weeks.
After the three-month trial, a full review and consultation with the trust will take place to agree the requirements of the service.

ReportMy 6yr old son deteriorated quickly last night (he has been ill for around 4 days) at around 11pm.... we called the doctors and were transferred the Serco call centre and received a call back within 10 minutes, a doctor was sent to our house in Kilk within 15 minutes, absolutely amazing service, and the doctor was excellent and very thorough in checking our son over... I thought from coverage I'd read that the doctors service was no longer available in Bude but was reassured on the phone that this was not the case, that only clinics had been reduced as they weren't used enough....
