I spent most of my winter days here while my daughter was in school, tapping away on my mac starting my business and enjoying the great food, coffee and atmosphere this place has even when there is no one around. Day or night, winter or summer, great location, friendly staff, great food and rustically decorated. Love it .

ReportI have fancied The Olive Tree for some time now, looking at it yearningly as I have been rushing past on my way to a meeting. On a sunny day, people sit outside along the canal wharf and bask in the rays. However, my friend who dresses for lunch, had booked us a table inside which was equally as pleasant. The service was good and the food came in sensible choices of portions. I chose a small sized squash risotto which was just right, scrumptious pieces of squash with the arborio rice and topped with rocket. I suspect it might be different in high season when the place probably becomes very busy but we stayed at our table for some time before embarking on dessert, in my case a lovely white chocolate cheesecake. All very filling but not stodgy. My friend and I parted with £10 each to include a tip and her drink. Tap water was plentiful and iced. I shall be going again; indeed, it is for coffee next week..........
