The BCC committee decided to run a FREE film night for members as a 'thank-you' for their support in the first year of operation.
Mind you, in return for their subscription of £10, members get three admission vouchers worth £12 so it wasn't a bad deal - and membership on this basis is still available. Without including the October (9th) screening of 'The Boat That Rocked', there are still five more dates in the 2009/2010 film year - so £10 membership is still great value. The dates are 13th November, 18th December, 8th and 29th January and 19th February.
But recognising that 'Star Trek' could be popular, it was decided to make a 'special' membership offer to join for just £4 - the same as the normal admission price. The aim is to help bulid membership - important to BCC's future. Note: This £4 offer does not include admission vouchers and it expires on 13th November 2009.
'Star Trek' is being shown on Thursday 19th November - BCC's first birthday - and the night of their AGM - so it's a chance for all members to have a say in the way the organisation is run.
All the details are on the BCC web site - tinyurl.com/y99msbx or for more information call Janine or Sean Everett on 01288 354256
(So the answer to the question from Cuckoo7 in August "Will you be getting the new Star Trek?' is a definite YES!)
