We tend to avoid Sundays as too often the offer is a carvery with 'weary' veg (unless you get there early).
Inn on the Green does some good food and the Brocksmoor Hotel (Widemouth Bay) is also worth a try.
And I hope you told the Falcon that you were disappointed (and why); all hospitality places should welcome constructive feedback. It should push up the standard rather than encourage people to avoid the place.
Tell us where you go and how you got on.
Also, the Castle is very good - take a look at their menu tinyurl.com/yfn2fs4 - and I believe Elements tinyurl.com/yj489fx has started offering Sunday lunch, although this might not be out of season. If their Sunday lunch is up to the same standard as their evening menu, you will be in for a real treat.

I feel i shouldn't be sharing this little gem as i'm afraid there will be 'no room at the inn' next time i fancy a break from cooking on a sunday but i cannot praise the carvey at The Tree Inn (Stratton) enough, the food is cooked to perfection and my family and friends can never find fault or reason to complain.
Haven't eaten out recently in Bude but I have always found the Inn on the Green to be good and friendly, the Olive Tree to have lovely food with smaller lunchtime portions, G's to offer great vegetarian and vegan food, and Urchins to offer good food and ambience but I need an eating fest. Slightly out of town, the Bush Inn at Morwenstow offers lovely locally-sourced meals including Cornish cheeses, etc. One day I will try the Castle!!
I have always found the Bullers Arms in Marmchurch very good for evening meals. I havent tried their Sunday Carvery yet, although it does have good reports, supposed to have 4 meats and 9 veg !
