I have been asked if I will pass this message on to all who live in the North Cornwall area. Ie. Bude and surrounding NHS district. Please read and tell others or forward this message to any people you can who have email.

P.S. Don't forget, when forwarding, to use the Bcc column so that anyone who might have a virus cannot pass it on to anyone else. If Stratton hospital is not used then it could be closed!

The numbers of people visiting the Minor Injury Unit here have
significantly dropped off during the building works particularly at
the weekend and we are wondering if there is a general feeling that
the hospital is closed.

It is quite vital that the numbers of patients attending is kept up
and so local people need to know that we are open for business as
usual.

Could you pass the word around for us please.

Many thanks,

What a perfect place then to base SERCO when the service returns to Bude!!

I think you mean 'if', Trev, rather than 'when'. Don't forget, all Serco are providing is cover on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and only for a three month trial period. What happens after that, is up to them.

We used the Minor Injuries Unit when our daughter suffered with burns to her face, arm and chest, they were absolutely fantastic, and re-dressed the burns in the weeks after it happened. I will pass the message on!

We have used the Minor Injuries on both occasions that my small son injured himself...both times we were seen immediately, by extremely efficient and understanding nurses and left tear-stained (parents and child!) but fixed! It is an invaluable service to our area. Can't the Bude & Stratton run an ad to inform everyone it is still open during the re-furb?

Probably would be easier to use if you could PARK your car there!!

The Small Injuries unit is great and both I and my better half have used it a few times. But we need a proper hospital in Bude to serve the whole of the North Cornwall area so that we don't have to travel 50 miles plus. Services of all types should be localised, not centralised as now. As energy and fuel costs keep on increasing, the 100+ miles return trips to hospital appointments become increasingly unaffordable, unsustainable and inefficient.
