A valued local customer of mine wants me to take her to Bellini's in Queen St on Sat night so she can watch the carnival, something she has done for a number of years. She has been told this year that I can't take her as the road will be shut at 6pm, she can only walk with aid of a wheeled walker so needs to be dropped of right outside door of cafe. Please discuss

For the past 11 years the marshals at the top of Queen Street have always been happy to let a car through to drop Mrs Chapman off. As they are usually local volunteers they understand that you will not cause a problem as you will be needing access and be out of the way well before the carnival has even left the Lower Warf. I don't know who has told her that she can't come this year because of the road closure, as the are no different to other years and I think she may be worrying over nothing. I know she prefers to get in a little later as it can make it a bit of a long night for her, however if she wanted to come in just before 6pm just let us know and we will make sure someone is able to meet you and help her in
